February 21, 2023As a hot take, it’s blasphemy that Disney even made a “2” of The Fox and the Hound (in 2006, after the 1981 original). Let alone made it non-canon. (Are we supposed to believe that in the time gap in the original movie between Tod and Copper’s childhood and the ending with the whole bear chase scene that they ran off to join the circus with an acapella dog howl-singing group and are back?)But ya know what: it’s kinda good. It’s a fun plotline, the music is catchy, and whatever it’s just eminently watchable.
What really shines is all the whacky southern sayings.
